POSITIVE ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE
At Applied Broadband, we believe in using broadband as a mechanism for positive environmental change. Increasingly, broadband telecommunications can, and will, be used as an energy efficient alternative in completing daily tasks. Examples include, renting a movie via the Internet rather than traveling to and from the video store; working some days from home, thereby easing burden on city infrastructure, saving travel costs and potentially minimizing office overhead; or using "networked intelligence" to manage energy and water consumption more efficiently.
We have seen corporations and the public become more creative with their use of broadband technologies and more accepting of alternatives to their established ways of getting things done. In the path toward environmental sustainability, broadband can become an increasingly effective tool, but first it is necessary that it is seen as such.
