JetPacket

Transforming broadband into a programmable platform.


 

JetPacket is a collection of tools, libraries, and applications created to accelerate the transformation of the broadband network into a programmable network platform. JetPacket offers Broadband service providers multiple tools for the development and optimization of large-scale SDN deployments in their networks today. 

Networks augmented by JetPacket benefit from a software-based control plane that supports new service offerings and use cases for broadband infrastructures that were unavailable to providers before. When applied to broadband networks, JetPacket works in concert with open network platforms (OpenDayLight, CableLabs PMA).

 JetPacket has traction in field trials enabling two new use cases: 1) the physical layer optimization of DOCSIS 3.1 networks, and 2) programmable service flow control for bandwidth conservation and service optimization.

Furthermore, despite significant progress in the growth and stability of broadband networks, service providers and consumers continue to struggle with home network reliability and performance.

Assembler is a collection of tools, libraries, and applications, designed to assure and enhance the broadband experience by providing visibility into, and control of, the underpinning connected home network.

Pipeline is the world’s fastest IPDR mediation platform, enabling massive scale collection, metering and correlation of subscriber usage data in real time.  Pipeline solves the problem of subscriber consumption data management while preserving the privacy of broadband consumers. 

Pipeline’s patented software is currently used by seven of the Top 10 North American MSOs (representing over 40 million broadband subscribers). Guavus, a leader in big data analytics products for service providers, acquired the Pipeline technology in 2014.

As the first generations of broadband matures, we find limitations in how we compose networks as we aspire to leap an order of magnitude in access speeds – moving us forward into the gigabit age. Monolithic, static, and hardware-centric architectures have become ossified over time, stifling network innovation and service agility.

At Applied Broadband, we propose to change the way broadband networks are composed – thorough the introduction of a new network architecture and software development models that harness new technologies.

The future of broadband network innovation sits at the confluence of open networking platforms, open source, new protocols, and virtualization. The rise of these contemporary forces now enabled powerful alternatives for how we design, develop, and deploy broadband globally.

Applied Broadband modulates these new technologies with our unique design and development model. We develop programmable networks based on a combination of open platforms, open source, and our software tools. Applied Broadband offers a new licensing model that is flexible and adapts to the greatest advantage of the service provider and their development and sustainability goals. 

We partner with the provider to interoperate with exiting systems and production network hardware, delivering a best-fit technology that meets their needs while affording unprecedented options for support and enhancement.

We call this new model Co-development, and it’s catching on.

When co-developing network platform with our service provider partners, we compose the solution using a unique and proven methodology.
